AGAFAY DESERT / KIK PLATEAU

Overview

Combine the rugged peaks of the High Atlas with the vast, rolling terrain of the “Stone Desert” on our 2-Day Morocco Gravel Bike Adventure. Starting from Marrakech, this tour is designed for riders who love the versatility of gravel—conquering high mountain plateaus one moment and flying across desert tracks the next.

Traverse remote Berber villages clinging to steep mountain slopes and experience some of the most exhilarating gravel descents in North Africa. From the shimmering blue waters of Lake Lalla Takerkoust to the sacred heights of the Kik Plateau, this journey offers a deep immersion into an ancient culture and a landscape that feels like a window into a bygone era. Whether you’re a fit beginner or a seasoned gravel grinder, this is the ultimate short-format desert escape.

The Itinerary

Day 1: Marrakech – Agafay Desert – Amizmiz – Journey 40 minutes to the heart of the Agafay Desert. Pedal across breathtaking landscapes toward Lake Lalla Takerkoust. Enjoy a traditional lakeside lunch before riding deep into the Amizmiz Valley for an overnight stay in a Berber mountain guesthouse.

Day 2: Kik Plateau – Asni – Marrakech – Witness a majestic Atlas sunrise followed by a steady climb to the Kik Plateau. Refresh at high vantage points before navigating the roads to the holy village of Moulay Brahim. Descent into the market town of Asni (visit the livestock market on Saturdays!) before our transfer back to Marrakech.
